Centro de mídia carioca recebe estruturas em light steel framing para atender aos jornalistas nos Jogos Olímpicos e Paralímpicos Rio 2016.

Instalações do Rio Media Center ficaram prontas em apenas 60 dias graças ao uso do sistema construtivo light steel framing.
Rio Media Center facility building ends in only 60 days thank to the specification of the light steel framing building system.
Tanto no Brasil como no exterior, há inúmeras obras que derrubam o mito de que um sistema construtivo industrializado possa gerar apenas formas padronizadas e pouco sofisticadas. A construção do Pavilhão da Cidade Olímpica, no Rio de Janeiro, é uma delas. Com fachada e cobertura que remetem aos traços do mestre Oscar Niemeyer, o edifício foi erguido em aço no centro da capital carioca, ao lado da Prefeitura Municipal, para abrigar as instalações do Rio Media Center (RMC) durante os Jogos Olímpicos e Paralímpicos deste ano.
As much at Brazil as at other countries, there are several buildings that demolishes myths that the manufactured building system can generate only standard and less sophisticated shapes. The building of the Pavilhao da Cidade Olimpica (Olympic City Pavilion), at Rio de Janeiro, is one of them. The facades and coverage send to the Oscar Niemeyer's lines, the building was built specifying steel at Rio de Janeiro's city center, beside City Hall, in order to provide Rio Media Center (RMC) facility during The Olympics and Paralympics Games.
O centro, que conta com auditório multiuso e tem capacidade para até 300 pessoas, recebe coletivas de imprensa e comporta dois estúdios de TV e seis de rádio em seu interior. Também tem 130 estações de trabalho com Internet cabeada e wi-fi, além de sinal de satélite para transmissões ao vivo.
The center, with its 300 people capacity multipurpose auditorium, attend press conferences, two TV studios and six Radio studios. It also has 130 workstations with cabled and wi-fi Internet, in addition to sattelite link for live transmissions
Para a sua concepção, o sistema construtivo adotado foi o light steel framing, composto por perfis leves de aço galvanizado. “O tempo de execução de apenas 60 dias e particularidades do projeto induziram à escolha desse sistema”, conta o engenheiro Guilherme Otto Kuhn, um dos autores do projeto estrutural.
For its design, the building system choosen was light steel framing, composed by light gauge galvanised steel profiles. "The time for the execution of works was only 60 days and design particularities inducted to choose this system", said the engineer Guilherme Otto Kuhn, one of the structural design authors.
Para a realização das paredes, que chegam a 11 m de altura, uma solução de intertravamento se fez necessária para assegurar a resistência das estruturas ao vento forte do local. Foram construídas vigas treliçadas posicionadas a 4 m e 8 m de altura, e pilares também treliçados com 30 cm de espessura, instalados a cada 4 m ou 5 m, todos fabricados com perfis leves de aço. “Uma característica marcante desse projeto é que, apesar dos desafios estruturais, foi possível utilizar somente o light steel framing. Não há nada de aço pesado”, revela a arquiteta Helena Rodrigues, gerente de projetos do Núcleo de Steel Frame do Gyp Group.
For the assembling of the walls, that reach a height of 11m, the interlocking system was necessary in order to guarantee structural strength to the high wind loads at site. It was assembled deep webbed joists at the height from 4m to 5m, all of them composed by light gauge steel profiles. "One strong feature of the design was that despite the structural challenges, it was possible to specify only light steel framing. There isn't laminated steel or other heavier steel profiles", reveal the architect Helena Rodrigues, design manager of the Nucleo de Steel Frame Gyp. Group (Steel Frame Center Gyp. Group).
Além do menor peso da estrutura em si, que impactou diretamente na redução de custos das fundações, o uso do sistema construtivo em light steel framing proporcionou, ainda, grande facilidade de montagem e a redução no uso de equipamentos mais robustos no canteiro.
In addition to a lighter structure for itself, that reduced the foundations costs, the specification of the light steel framing building system gived, also, an easier assembling and the reduction of the heavier equipments at worksite.
A construção, com linhas que remetem à arquitetura de Oscar Niemeyer, é composta por um módulo central que recebeu fechamento externo com painel cimentício, que auxilia na função de contraventamento. Também conta com três pequenos blocos periféricos em forma de arco e fechamento de vidro, por onde se tem acesso ao bloco principal. As vedações internas são em drywall com preenchimento de lã mineral para melhor desempenho acústico.
The building, with its lines that send to oscar Niemeyer's architecture is composed by a center modulus that received external wall cladding with cement boards, which help with the bracings function. It also has three small peripheral blocks with an arc shape and glass cladding, through people enter the main block. The internal claddings was specified in drywall with mineral fibers blanket insulation in order to increase the acoustic insulation.
Vigas e pilares treliçados fabricados com perfis leves de aço fazem o intertravamento das estruturas para assegurar resistência às cargas horizontais.
Deep webbed pillars and joists manufactured with light gauge steel profiles work also as an interlocking system of the structure in order to guarantee strengthness for the wind loads.
